UI Design For A Physical Therapy App for Kids With Cerebral Palsy
The lead developer came to us proclaiming that he had finished coding the game in a day, (it's a very simple game) 😄 and that the rest of the budget can be used on art. My lead designer and I started right away to make something awesome.
Hannah Nye and I worked together on this app. I asked her if she could lend her amazing illustration skills to it and handle the in-game art. I would then take her art style and craft a UI. The original game had a "circus" theme and the user would hover over balloons to pop them. We took that basic functionality and crafted a storyline complete with characters and their world.
The original game had a "circus" theme and the user would hover over balloons to pop them. So we decided to make them characters that are trying to escape drowning in a pit they fell into. It still had the same functionality of hovering over one spot for a small amount of time.
Hannah came up with these amazing character designs that were next level. I just had to use this as a direction to create my UIs.
I took these character styles to craft the rest of game including the logo and UI art.
